Why we exist

A sector worth fighting for.

TRIUMPH is an independent, global majority-led organisation governed by youth sector colleagues committed to increasing racial equity. Since July 2020 we have reviewed, surveyed and had much-needed dialogue about the systemic inequities that still exist in the sector — with a core focus on racial inequality.

We are not a campaign. We are not a moment. We are infrastructure for the long-overdue work of making this sector match the young people it serves.

Commitments

    Diversify leadership.

    across organisations large and small in the voluntary youth sector.

    Develop a standard.

    of anti-oppressive practice the sector can hold itself to.

    Equip organisations.

    to take ownership over their own equalities practice.

    Convene the sector.

    with funders, decision-makers, infrastructure bodies and cross-sector organisations.

Change. Not campaigns.

The phrase is the brief. We don't move at the speed of a campaign cycle — we move at the speed required to change how decisions are made, how money is allocated, and how power is distributed in the youth sector.
